About Charles Culler Middle School
Charles Culler School was named after a drafting teacher who later became principal of Whittier Junior High School. When Culler opened in 1958, the enrollment was 285. During the first five years of its existence, Culler was a combination junior high and elementary school. From 1963 to 1993, Culler was a junior high school with grades seven, eight, and nine. In 1993, Culler became a middle school for grades six, seven, eight with a projected enrollment of 620 students.
Misson Statement
The mission of Charles Culler Middle School is to serve its school community by providing an environment that encourages the growth of a student through a variety of appropriate and challenging learning experiences. Learning experiences at Charles Culler Middle School will be socially equitable with expectations for high academic achievement and for socially acceptable and appropriate behavior. These learning experiences will help students develop lifelong skills to become successful, employable citizens in a multicultural society.
